Barbara J. Felts

For as long as I can remember I have been compelled to create art. I shared this desire with my mother and I have many fond memories of creating arts and crafts with her over the years. I wouldn’t be where I am today without her encouragement to take my first polymer clay figure sculpting class with June Goodnow at a doll show in 1995. I quickly became obsessed with polymer clay figure sculpting as soon as I had the clay in my hand. Since that doll show I have taken many sculpting classes and attended many shows with my mother right by my side. I have learned so much over the years and I strive to learn more each day. I sculpt figures with polymer clay and now earthenware clay.

I have won many awards over the years starting the first year that felt qualified to submit an entry. Dolls magazine Industry choice awards (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017)

Due to health issues and family obligations I was unable to sculpt in the past few years so I haven’t entered any contests since 2017.

I intend to get back to sculpting very soon. I have moved into a house with a separate space for my studio (BJF-Studio and Gallery). I plan to begin classes to pass along the information that I have learned over the years.
